A Family Name Behind Every Clean Site.
KM Dass takes its name from a 130-year-old family business in Kolkata, India — a legacy of service, accountability, and doing things properly. That same spirit carried into New Zealand when Soumik Mukherjee founded KM Dass & Company in 2018.
Before starting KM Dass, Soumik ran a commercial cleaning franchise. He understood the model — and its limits. In July 2018, he sold the franchise, kept his clients and staff, and built something different: a direct-employment company where every cleaner is part of the team, not a contractor filling a shift.
Since then, KM Dass has grown to 150+ direct staff across 10 regions, serving schools, early learning centres, workplaces, healthcare facilities, and retail environments throughout New Zealand. No franchises. No subcontractors. Just consistent, professional people who show up every day.
